Barceloneta is a historic city beach and one of Barcelona’s main public spaces by the sea. Redeveloped for the 1992 Olympic Games, it stretches from Platja de Sant Sebastià to Port Olímpic, forming a long, open Mediterranean stretch. Fine sand, wide horizons and a lively promenade. In summer, volleyball, surfing and swimming; in winter, walks and quiet moments by the sea. Nearby restaurants and beach bars serve rice dishes, fresh fish and a mix of coastal and mountain flavours.

This is good to know

It has showers, toilets and lifeguard service, and in season, sun loungers and parasols to make the most of a day by the sea.
There are also beach volleyball courts and outdoor gym areas.
