The Centre Martorell d’Exposicions is a public institution that promotes science and critical thinking through temporary exhibitions on topics such as biodiversity, the climate emergency and the future of knowledge. It includes two exhibition halls and a multipurpose space where art, data and interactive storytelling come together within a restored neoclassical building. Each exhibition turns the space into a place where ideas are explored, shared and questioned. It invites you to look at the world from different perspectives and take part in the conversations shaping it.

This is good to know

Opened in 1882 as Barcelona’s first public museum, the building lay dormant for decades before being given a new role as a centre for contemporary thought. Traces of its geological past can still be seen in its walls.
The programme is updated regularly, focusing on relevant contemporary topics. Returning is part of the experience.
Alongside the exhibitions, workshops, guided visits and public discussions help keep the centre active beyond the exhibition spaces.
