Urban spaces
The Parc de la Ciutadella is Barcelona’s green lung and the city’s oldest public park. It was created on the site of a former military fortress for the 1888 Universal Exhibition. It still preserves landmarks from that period, including the Cascada Monumental, the Modernista Castell dels Tres Dragons and its well-known lake. Beneath the shade of mature trees, walkers, families and joggers share the 18-hectare park throughout the day. Every visit feels slightly different, with life unfolding in every corner.
